Vikaspedia is a multi-stakeholder digital ecosystem that seeks to ensure equitable access to information, in particular, information on public policies and schemes in regional languages, for meaningful citizen engagement, participation, and empowerment, especially for the poor and vulnerable groups.
Vikaspedia is hence conceptualised as a robust, user-focused digital ecosystem that provides a level playing ground for all to create, access, utilize and share universally accessible information that is multilingual, multi-modal, multi-sectoral, reliable, and pro-development. Technology, Capacities, Knowledge, and Sustainability enablers form the pillars of the multi-stakeholder digital ecosystem.
The Vikaspedia collaborative knowledge sharing portal is an initiative of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology , Government of India and implemented by Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Hyderabad.
Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) was established in March 1988, as a Scientific Society of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India. C-DAC is primarily an R&D institution involved in the design, development, and deployment of electronics and advanced Information Technology (IT) products and solutions including the celebrated PARAM series of supercomputers.
C-DAC, Hyderabad , is engaged in research in the domains of e-Security, e-Learning, Supply Chain Management, Open Source Software, VLSI, and Embedded Systems Design.
