Sapthagunda Water falls

Accessibility Of the seven waterfalls in Sirpur (U), two can be classified as the most beautiful spots and are located in close proximity. These are situated about 20 km from Jainoor mandal headquarters and can be accessed from either Lingapur or Pittaguda villages. In the absence of a proper road, a distance of about 4 km in the forest has to be trekked. A road and accommodation for tourists at these spots could arouse the interest of nature enthusiasts.

Kankaigundam is located on the Kadem river in Bazarhatnoor mandal. A 3-km walk in the wilderness is inevitable to reach this spot after travelling to Balhanpur in Bazarhatnoor from Ichoda mandal headquarters on the NH 7.

The Gadadigundam is another interesting spot on the Kadem river in Neredigonda mandal and can be accessed from Tarnam village from where a walk for about 4 km is needed to reach the waterfall. These two waterfalls on Kadem river dry up in the summer months. While water cascades from a lesser height at most of the seasonal falls, one waterfall cascades from a height of about 100 ft.

Mitte waterfalls

A Cluster of Seven Waterfalls Sapthala Gundam Mitte Waterfalls is located on a local stream in Sirpur (U) mandal near Pittaguda village inside a dense forest region. One of the many waterfalls located in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, it is a breath-taking sight to see the plunge of water from a high cliff. There are about seven waterfalls, out of which only three are currently accessible by foot. Mitte waterfall is located at a distance of nearly 30 kilometres from Asifabad and 350 kilometres from Hyderabad, the state capital.

Sri Komaram Bheem Project

The project named after Komaram Bheem (22 October 1901 – 19 October 1940), was a tribal leader who fought against the Asaf Jahi Dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad State. Komaram Bheem openly fought against the ruling Nizam government in a guerrilla campaign. He defied courts, laws, and any other form of Nizam authority, living off the sustenance of the forest. He took up arms against Nizam Nawab's soldiers, and fought Babi Jhari until his last breath.

This Project proposed to supply water to Asifabad, Wankidi, Kaghaznagar, and Sirpur mandals more than 45,000 in acres. But currently, the project is providing irrigation water to about 20,000 acres under its left canal 35 km. Right canal will provide irrigation water to about another 25000 acres.
