Remote learning initiatives - Arunachal Pradesh

During the current lockdown in wake of COVID 19, the School Education Department of Arunachal Pradesh has proactively taken up the task of ensuring that children do not lose out on any opportunity to learn and to continue their academic progress by providing access to tech-enabled learning sources. It has been envisaged to integrate digital learning with classroom teaching in the post COVID period by introducing well-planned interventions addressing critical elements of the learning ecosystem for students, parents and teachers.

Following are the initiatives taken:

Radio School

In collaboration with All India Radio, Itanagar, the Dept of Education, Govt of Arunachal Pradesh is broadcasting online radio talk for classes 1 to 5, on Arun FM 103.1Mhz & MW 675khz (Monday to Saturday) at 1.20 pm w.e.f 02.06.2020 (Tuesday). The first radio talk started with Class -1 then class 2, and so on.

Online Classes Programme on TV Channels

Online classes have been started for Class 9 to 12 students on the following TV channels in consultation with Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Further, the Department of Education, Arunachal Pradesh has also started Online classes programme which is being telecasted in the TV Channels of Tata Sky Channel No. 1995 DD, Free Dish DTH Channel No. 11, Dish TV Channel No. 1514, Videocon d2h Channel No 846 and at various local cable operators between Monday to Saturday 

The details of the classes are given below:

Class 6 - Time 9.30 am to 10.10 am

Class 7 - Time 10.10 am to 10.50 am

Class 8 - Time 10.50 am to 11.30 am

Live Classes through EDUSAT

In this initiative, selected teachers shall take live classes of students through a network of EDUSAT. For this, EDUSAT network is being strengthened and a state-of-the-art studio is being created at the Directorate of Education

Other digital platforms 

WhatsApp groups/webinars/Google meet is being used by lecturers to be in touch with their students directly. It is being used in some places but many places don’t have signals due to connectivity issues.
