Brahmastra - A Case Study Competition for future India

Brahmastra 2024

Brahmastra 2024 is a premier case study competition organized by the Public Policy and Opinion Cell , IIT Kanpur. This competition, invites students from top institutions to tackle complex  problems and propose innovative solutions.

Event Objective

Promote the spirit of public-policy based research across all universities in India.  Encourage students to engage in critical thinking and innovative problem-solving in the field of public policy. Foster collaboration among top institutions to address pressing societal challenges.

In Collaboration with student bodies of:

  • IIT Kanpur
  • IIT Kharagpur
  • IIT Bombay
  • IIT Roorkee
  • IIT Madras

Guidelines

  • The team members must be undergraduates(UG) from any college
  • Inter-college and inter-specialization team members are allowed 
  • The competition comprises of two online rounds followed by final presentation at IIT Kanpur

Rules

  • The participants must form a team of size minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3
  • A participant is not allowed to be a part of more than one team
  • Violation of any rule might lead to disqualification of the entire team
  • The organizing team reserves the right to change the rules at any point in time and all decisions in the matter of eligibility, authenticity & final judgment will be with the organizing team

Rounds & Timeline

  • Round 1: Quiz Round  This 20 minutes quiz round is meant to evaluate your critical-thinking and analytical skills. The quiz will cover questions from Current Affairs, Case Studies, Data Analytics and Aptitude. Top teams advance to next round based on performance. Problem Statement for next round will be released after the result of this Quiz.
  • Round 2: Presentation Submission  Participants are expected to submit a presentation outlining their solution to the given problem. Our team will thoroughly review the submissions, and the top teams will move forward to the next round.
  • Round 3: Final Presentation at IIT Kanpur Campus  The final round of the competition would be a presentation round where the Top-10 teams would have an opportunity to present in-person at IIT Kanpur campus.
