The Urban Learning Internship Program

The Urban Learning Internship Program (TULIP)’ - A program for providing internship opportunities to fresh graduates in all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and Smart Cities across the country.

Implementation agencies

The TULIP program is being implemented through a partnership between Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and AICTE. At the State level, TULIP will be supported by the Urban Development departments in providing a clear roadmap for the ULBs/smart cities to adopt TULIP in their respective organisations.

Eligibility

The internships under TULIP are open to Indian Citizens who graduate from an undergraduate program can apply within 18 months from graduating. It is open to courses and streams as prescribed by ULBs/smart cities in their requirements and both AICTE affiliated and non-AICTE college graduates can apply. Indian Students whose results have been declared and have a passing percentage can apply. They should submit digital transcripts or a provisional certificate stating that they have completed the course successfully and passed in all subjects. Once the degree has been awarded, a digital copy should be uploaded on the platform and the same informed to the nodal officer at the interning ULB/smart city.

On successful completion of Internship, the ULB/Smart City shall generate the certificate from the TULIP Portal. Students can access their certificates from their login. The stipend and its amount are under the scope and purview of the specific ULB/smart city one is applying to. Any stipend or allowance amount, if provided or not, will be mentioned in the perks and allowances section of the internship posted by the ULB/smart city.

A Govt. issued identity proof (Driving License, Election Card, etc.), proofs of academic qualifications and a letter of recommendation from academic mentors of the student are the basic requirements for an internship for TULIP. Further some opportunities would require a synopsis to be submitted which may be specified by the ULB/smart city in the internship posting.
