Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council

The Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) is the apex body in skill development in the emerging Aerospace and Aviation sector. AASSC has been formed under the Government and Industry led initiative to skill the Indian labour force.

About AASSC

The Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) was incorporated as a Section 8 Company (under Companies Act 2013) on 12th September 2014. AASSC is one of the various Sector Skill Councils (SSC) which has been formed with the help of grant from the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). NSDC provides support to all SSCs during the initial years of operations in the form of grant. The promoters of AASSC are Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore Chamber of Industries & Commerce (BCIC) and the Society of Indian Aerospace Technologies & Industries (SIATI). In addition to the equity contribution from its promoters, the company has received grant from National Skill Development Corporation.

Vision

The vision of the Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council is to bridge the gap between demand and supply of skilled manpower in the sector in segments like Design & Development, Aerospace Manufacturing, Maintenance Repair & Overhaul (MRO), Airline Operations and Airports. In order to achieve this ambitious target, AASSC will involve all stakeholders – Government, companies, regulatory bodies, research establishments, academic institutes and training providers. The vision will be achieved through preparation of the occupational map, formulation of National Occupational Standards, setting up skill delivery mechanisms through affiliated training providers and creation of accreditation bodies leading to certification of fresh trainees and retraining, in order to ensure horizontal and vertical mobility of skilled manpower into the Aerospace and Aviation Sector in India.

Mission

The Mission of Aerospace and Aviation Sector Skill Council (AASSC) is to involve all the stakeholders from the first stage of formulation of demand estimates, setting up National Occupational Standards (NOS), skill imparting delivery mechanisms, accreditation of training bodies, leading to certifying of fresh trainees and retraining in order to ensure mobility into the latest technology of aerospace and aviation industry.

Aviation Jobs is a unique web-based portal that brings together job seekers and prospective employers in the Indian civil aviation sector. It is a common platform for enabling candidates to register their job interests across various sub-sectors. At the same time, it facilitates the sourcing of information about candidates available in the market by prospective employers with a view to improve prospects for employment or re-employment in the civil aviation ecosystem.
