Bharat Skills

Bharat Skills is an initiative of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

It is a unified and lightweight Central Repository for skills that provide NSQF curriculum, course material, videos, question banks and mock tests, etc. for students and trainers in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs). This helps trainers and trainees to have easy access to books in six Indian languages (Hindi, Odiya, Tamil, Marathi, English, and Gujarati), practice papers, and learning videos which enable them to easily learn their topics outside class. All courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme, with course material, video content, Question Bank, and e-Learning materials are available on Bharatskills.

Key Aspects

  • Bharat skills proved to be a big boon as an e-Governance platform to provide e-books, elearning videos, and practice question banks to the ITI trainees. The trainers also used elearning videos uploaded on the Bharat Skills platform as lesson plans and teaching materials to demonstrate hands-on skilling techniques to the candidates.
  • Presently Bharat Skills have more than 1.44 crore hits and more than 42.25 lakh unique IPs. Links to various other programs for Employability skills, and advanced new age skills by industry partners- IBM, CISCO, Quest Alliance, Microsoft, NASSCOM, and Adobe are being provided on the Bharat skills portal to make the trainee industry ready.
  • PGI Tool provides insights on the status of school education in states/UTs including key performance levers and areas for improvement.
