Vision

To create a State of Art Educational Ecosystem in the District of Palamu ensuring last mile delivery.

Scale

10 Higher Secondary Schools in 10 Blocks of the District.

Time Period

Initiated in August 2019, the project is supposed to run forever with timely improvisations on the basis of Need Analysis.

Situational Analysis

Due to lack of Teachers and rough terrain of the district schools of remote parts of Palamu are facing challenges while ensuring last mile delivery of educational services. District Administration of Palamu then came up with innovative idea of integrating 10 remote schools in far-off blocks of the district, though a digital channel, with a centralized studio (District headquarters). Five subjects, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology & English are taught using the digital channel located in studio at District Headquarter to the students on class 11th & 12th.

Output

All 10 Schools now have a daily access to classroom learning of the aforementioned 5 subjects. The classes are conducted online so teacher’s absenteeism is not an issue now.

Impact  

1. Optimum Utilization of Human Resources (Teachers) has led to improve the reach of educational services
2. The digital set up has lured students to attend these classes, hence an improvement in the daily attendance.
3. Improved belief of a common man in government schools.
4. Digital penetration has resulted in improved reach of internet.
5. Innovative methods of teachings adopted by teachers.

Way Forward

• 10 More schools will be linked with the digital studio in 2020.
• The infrastructure will be used for weekend coaching classes for aspiring SSC/Bank PO aspirants.
• The infrastructure to be used as a communication tool to interact with Mukhiyas and other stakeholders to disseminate important information from district level.

Highlights of the Year

• Rationalization took place in 276 elementary schools to make them comply with RTE specified Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR).
• 7 schools enabled with functional electricity facility at secondary level. Currently 100% schools of the district have functional electricity facility.
• 17 schools enabled with functional drinking water facility. Currently 100% schools of the district have functional drinking water facility.
• 18 Bronze medals awarded to the schools of Palamu for SATH-E program of NITI Aayog, overall 2nd rank in Jharkhand.
• Parent Teacher Meeting organized in 55% (1412 out of 2564 schools) of the Schools of Palamu in September, 2019.
