Digital Life certificate at your door-step

Every pensioner of Employees Pension Scheme 1995 (EPSP95) is required to submit a Life Certificate (JPP) / Digital Life Certificate (DLC) to continue the pension scheme every year. This has to be done every year in the month of November. The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has provided various options to EPS pensioners to deposit DLC from their home or near home.  

About the service

 To facilitate this process, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has launched digital life certificate service for pensioners. 

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has customized its Bank software and dovetailed the same with Jeevan Pramaan software of Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY) and UIDAI, to provide DLC services at the doorstep of Pensioners. This facility shall be in addition to other facilities such as withdrawal of money from bank account etc. while sitting at home. IPPB is utilising its national network of more than 1,36,000 access points in Post Offices and more than 1,89,000 Postmen & Gramin Dak Sevaks with smart phones and biometric devices to provide Doorstep Banking Services. As a result a huge number of pensioners across the country shall be able to avail doorstep service through Postmen/ Gramin Dak Sevak, without visiting to bank branch or standing in a queue outside the bank branches.

Main features of the service 

  • This service is available for IPPB and non-IPPB customers.
  • It is a chargeable service and will be available to all Central Government Pensioners across the country irrespective of the fact their pension accounts are in different bank. 
  • Issuance of DLC is a completely paperless, seamless and hassle free process, and the certificate is generated instantly.
  • For every successful generation of DLC, a nominal fee of Rs. 70 (inclusive of GST/ CESS) will be charged.
  • There will be no doorstep charges levied for IPPB or non-IPPB customers for issuance of DLC.

How to access the service

Pre-requisites for generating DLC:

  • Pensioner must have an Aadhaar number
  • Pensioner must have an existing mobile number
  • Registration of the Aadhaar number with pension disbursing agency (bank/ post office etc.) should be done already
  • Pensioner should also keep the following details handy (In case the pensioner has got the DLC generated in the previous years, then these details are auto-populated)
    • Type of pension
    • Sanctioning authority
    • Disbursing agency
    • PPO number
    • Account number (pension)

How to apply

  • To avail DLC service, a customer can contact the nearest post office or place a request for a doorstep visit by the postman/Grameen Dak Sevak.
  • Department of Posts have also enabled scheduling of doorstep request through the
  • Immediately upon request, a postman at the nearest post office will visit the pensioner and complete the process of generating only DLC at the pensioner's home
  • On successful completion, a Pramaan ID is generated that is shared with pensioner by NIC directly.
  • Once the Pramaan ID is generated, pensioners may download the DLC through the link https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/ppouser/login.
