Vikaspedia wishes the “Nari Skakthi” of the country a Happy Women’s Day…
March 8 is celebrated as the “International Women’s Day”. The theme for this year’s celebration is “Time is Now: Rural and urban activists transforming women’s lives”. As an individual, community and as a nation, let us resolve and be committed to act NOW for the transformation of women’s lives by giving them equal opportunities, rights and respect.
The government in its resolve to empower women has been implementing schemes that exclusively target women and the challenges faced by them. A separate Ministry - Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) is in existence with a vision to ensure empowered women living with dignity and contributing as equal partners in development in an environment free from violence and discrimination. Under the section “Schemes for You”, we provide the links of women empowerment schemes of the Ministry of WCD for your reference and utility.
A safe and secure virtual space is a must for women to take advantage of the technology revolution for their empowerment. One of the most common mode of harassment of women in the virtual space is Cyber bullying. Visit the section “InfoSec for You” to get more information on cyber bullying.
The regular sections on Vacancies/Recruitment notices from government agencies and Domain-wise content update also find place in this issue of Vikas News.
