Common University Entrance Test 2024

Common University Entrance Test [CUET (UG) - 2024] 

The National Testing Agency has been mandated by the Ministry of Education and UGC to conduct the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for admission into Undergraduate Programmes in Central Universities under the Ministry of Education, and other participating Universities / Institutions / Organizations / Autonomous Colleges. 

The CUET (UG) provides a single window opportunity to students seeking admission in any of the Central Universities (CUs) or other participating organizations (including State Universities, Deemed and Private Universities) across the country. 

Important Dates

For the Academic Session 2024-25, CUET (UG) – 2024 will be conducted in the hybrid mode (Computer-Based Test (CBT) / Pen & Paper) as per the details given below: 

Online submission of application form  27 February to 26 March 2024 (Up to 11:50 P.M.) 
Last date of successful transaction of fee through Credit / Debit Card / Net-Banking / UPI  26 March 2024 (up to 11:50 P.M.) 
Correction in particulars  28 March to 29 March 2024 (Up to 11:50 P.M.) 
Announcement of the city of examination  30 April 2024 onwards* 
Downloading admit cards from the NTA website  Second week of May 2024* 
Date of examination  Between 15 May and 31 May 2024* 
Display of recorded responses and answer keys  To be announced later on the website

The details of the programmes offered by Central Universities (CUs), State Universities, and other participating Universities / Organizations are available on their respective websites as well as on https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/. Candidates must carefully refer to the eligibility requirements of the programmes offered by various Central Universities and participating Universities / Organizations in this regard.

The list of participating universities is dynamic. Candidates are advised to regularly visit NTA website(s) www.nta.ac.in, https://exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ for the latest updates regarding the examination and participating universities.

The CUET (UG) - 2024 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

The CUET (UG) – 2024 is being offered in 380 cities including 26 cities outside India.

Scheme of Examination

Subjects/ Tests (61)  Questions to be Attempted 
There are 33 languages and 27 subjects. A candidate may choose any subject/language as desired by the applicable University/ Organization.  40 questions to be attempted out of 50 in each language 
General Test: For any such undergraduate programme / programmes being offered by Universities where a General Test is being used for admission.  50 Questions to be attempted out of 60 

Note 

  1. From the above subjects/languages, the candidate can choose a maximum of 06 (six) subjects from all three sections. 
  2. 40 out of 50 questions for all test papers and 50 out of 60 for the General Test (An overall choice of 10 questions will be provided for all 61 subjects). 
  3. It is advisable for candidates to select at least one language and the General Test. 
  4. Duration for all test papers would be 45 minutes except for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Accountancy, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, Computer Science/Informatics Practices, and General Tests which would be 60 minutes. 
  5. The examination will be conducted on multiple days in two or three shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject choices.
